A small town in a big city, Brampton is home to a wide variety of locations. One of Canada’s most popular filming destinations, Brampton offers parks and playgrounds, courthouses and churches, beaches and woodlots, streetscapes and heritage sites and much more.
A half-hour drive from downtown Toronto and only minutes from Lester B. Pearson International Airport, Brampton’s Downtown Central Core Area can stand in for small town anywhere and corporate somewhere. There is a local emphasis on heritage, which is quite evident in the houses, institutions, and industries that once were vital, active facilities that have been lovingly cared for and still stand today. The Rose Theater, a new filming location for Brampton, is a spectacular 800-seat theater capable of hosting live broadcasts.
Some of the most popular Citywide filming locations include; the 5000 seat PowerAde Centre, great for sporting events and concerts; the Peel Heritage Complex which includes a Courthouse that can be dressed to look like one from yesteryear or something with a modern U.S. style; Gage Park with a skating path that winds throughout century old trees in the middle of downtown; Memorial Area with an unmistakable hometown hockey look and feel; and various homes located throughout the community which provide the backdrop for scene shot in almost any era. Parks and recreation facilities are too numerous to mention but include a 240 acre lake with beach area, a ski hill, stocked fishing ponds, barns, the great Credit River and everything associated with those locations.
As part of The City’s Economic Development Office, the Brampton Film Liaison Office can arrange for a site selection tour or provide images that will demonstrate why Brampton is a desirable location for filming commercials, music videos, television shows and movies.
